Meeting to elect officers occurs in June after the seniors graduate.  Anyone can nominate themselves to run for office.  Prepare a brief one minute speech why you want one of these positions.  All officers must meet membership expectations.


  • Run General Meetings and set up meeting agenda with advisor a few days prior to meeting
  • Communicate with officers about executive officer meetings and members about general meetings.
  • Lead our service projects or appoint member(s) of the officer board to lead projects.
  • Work with the treasurer to coordinate fundraisers
  • Co-Lead the Induction Ceremony with the NHS Advisor
  • Speak at the Induction Ceremony

Vice President

  • Run General Meetings if President is absent.
  • Take on Treasurer or Secretary Duties if either member is absent.
  • Collect Volunteer Hour Service Sheets 3x (or 4x) a year and Record Data in Log
  • Notify Advisor of members who are not meeting service obligations
  • Record Service Projects done by organization and give to Advisor to communicate to National Organization
  • Help other members of the officer board
  • Speak at the Induction Ceremony


  • Record Attendance and Minutes of General and Executive Meetings and give electronic copy to Advisor to post to web site.
  • Take pictures of members engaged in service projects or appoint other member to do this task and give to advisor for posting to website.
  • Help other members of the officer board
  • Speak at the Induction Ceremony


  • Raise funds for our NHS Chapter by creating and coordinating fundraisers
  • Keep a balance sheet of NHS money and work with school secretary
  • Help advisor fill out purchase orders or other forms to pay invoices.
  • Speak at the Induction Ceremony

Tutoring Coordinator

  • Accept tutoring requests from Easthampton School District staff
  • Communicate tutoring opportunities to members
  • Communicate to both parties when tutoring match is found.
  • Speak at the Induction Ceremony
